Scope and Contents: The Edward Faxon papers span the years of his Arboretum career and include photographs, correspondence and original drawings, sketches, and published plates, which make up the majority of the collection. His archive also includes biographical material and obituaries, several black and white photographic portraits, and a small amount of correspondence directed primarily to Arboretum colleagues or in reply to individuals seeking plant material identification. Scope and content: The collection contains original artwork, published plates, and manuscript material. Artwork includes drawings and paintings of plants, animals, and scenery. Manuscript material consists of translations of portions of Julius Milde's 1869 “Botrychiorum Monographia.” Faxon's translations date from November 1876 and may have been made while he was in Europe.
Scope and Contents: This collection contains 39 unnumbered leaves of vascular plant watercolors. Some of the watercolors seem to be unfinished.
Scope and Contents: The collection is comprised of 9 color illustrations; 32 cm. Prepared for but not used in D.C. Eaton's Ferns of North America (1879-1880).
