Biography

Gerrit Smith Miller, Jr. (1869-1956) was born in Peterboro, New York. He was an American zoologist and botanist. He graduated from Harvard University in 1894 and worked at the United States Department of Agriculture. He was the assistant curator and curator of mammals at the United States National Museum in Washington and an associate in biology at the Smithsonian Institution. He married Elizabeth E. Page Miller in 1897. She died in 1920. In 1921 he married Anne Chapin Gates Miller. He is buried with his wife Anne in Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
