Louisa (Loulie) Chapin Hooper Thoron was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in May 4, 1874 and died there on July 12, 1975. She is buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Edward William and Fanny Hudson (Chapin) Hooper and wife of Ward Thoron (1867-1938), a Washington, D.C. lawyer and later the treasurer of the Merrimack Manufacturing Company.

She was the niece of Marian and Henry Adams and corresponded frequently with her uncle.

Scope and Contents: Signed handwritten letter from Loulie Hooper Thoron to Mildred Bliss telling her she wandered the Dumbarton Oaks Garden going from "one beautiful terrace to another drinking in the taste and knowledge of the artist planner and artist owners who had put together such gardens for the delight of birds and men.
