Biography

William A. Jackson was the librarian of Harvard University's Houghton Library of Rare Books and Manuscripts from 1942 until his death. He was also an internationally acclaimed bibliographer. He helped plan the Arthur Amory Houghton Library and became the first librarian of the repository of literary and historical treasures.
