Scope and Contents: One of six unpublished volumes of original paintings of orchids by Rodrigues, 1869-1888. Most illustrations are signed "J. Barbosa Rodrigues, del. d'ap. nat." Illustrations are numbered in pencil and annotated in various hands including A. Cogniaux, F.C. Hoehne, and R.A. Rolfe. The volume is bound in vellum with decorated front and back covers by Livaria J. Leite, Livros Sobre o Brasil, Rio. The other five volumes are held in Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden.
