Biography

John Farr was born in England in 1791. He immigrated to the United States and founded with Abraham Kunzi, Farr & Kunzi in 1818. In 1822, the company introduced quinine and sulfate to the United States. Upon Kunzi's retirement in 1836, Farr partnered with his nephew William Weightman and Thomas Powers to establish Farr, Powers and Weightman, manufacturing chemists. John Farr died in 1848.
