Copy of a typescript letter from Isabel Denison and the editor, Album XG, Metropolitan Museum of Art about Mildred Bliss' interest in a Maria Sibilla Merian's "Butterflies and red flowers" print published in the pamphlet on women artists that they produced. She requests additional information on the source of the material. On the letter written at the bottom is "Source given". Letter also offers some biographical history on Maria Sibilla Merian.

Handwritten and handsigned message from Mildred Bliss to be sent to Gisela Richter at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City no later than 4/19/[19]34. Gisela Richter had scheduled a meeting with Mildred Bliss for April 19, 1934 to discuss problems with the Greek inscription for the panel dedicated to Beatrix Farrand in the Dumbarton Oaks Green Garden. Mildred Bliss regrets she is unable to attend the meeting and will ask Ruth Havey discuss inscription with her.

Content Description: Views of Persian and Indian architecture, monuments, gardens, and manuscripts. The glass negatives include images of the Taj Mahal and Sikandar Bagh ("Gate of Sikandarah") in Agra, India. Most of the lantern slides were produced by commercial studios, and many are reproductions of slides in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Slides produced by Edward van Altena and the Lynvers Company are highly represented. The authorship of the glass negatives is unknown, though...
