Biography

The ship Hitty was built in South Berwick, Maine by Nathan Nason in 1812. The ship weighed 337 tons with a length of 101.5 feet, beam of 27.45 feet and a depth of 13.7 feet. The ship was owned by John Lord, Samuel Lord and William Haven of Portsmouth, New Hampshires and later Ichabod Goodwin. The Hitty traded goods among Portsmouth, the Southern United States, and Europe.
